Sunday Stamps ~ The smallest word...

WOW! Sunday is here again which means another week of vacation behind us J We had a wonderful week with a few more beach days and some much needed rain.

Searching for crabs J

So here is this week's Sunday Stamps challenge. We have a lovely sketch from Joan Jeffery over at J J Creations -http://j-jcreations.blogspot.ca. It is so fun to see what each design team member brings to the challenge each week!

For my cards I usually pick a stamp set and then a colour theme and go from there but for this card I actually picked the sentiment first and the rest fell into place. We are just 11 weeks away (but 8 week would be just fine baby lol) from meeting our second child and we CANNOT wait to see what this new little life with bring to our family J

Our Challenge:

My Card:

I am totally in love with the colour theme of the Summer Smooches DSP the set that suites it is super cute too.

A Little Sparkle to Brighten Your Day

Time has really gotten away from me J I meant to space these posts out a little more to crate a wee bit more action on my blog while I was away but here we are the 28th of July and tomorrow is the deadline!

Once again here with a previously used Sketch over at Merry Monday Challenge to complete my 4th and final card for the July challenge.

I did not have enough room in my luggage to bring any Stampin' stuff with me while I was on holidays but my aunt here in Nova Scotia is a crafty lady too and I may just be able to duck up into her craft area to keep my Merry Monday Challenges going until we make it back to Ottawa in September.

My Challenge:

My Card:

Once again broke into my retired stash of Holiday DSP and came up with this simple card. It is amazing what a little sparkle can add J

Merry Monday #3 for July!

Just chiming in with a SUPER quick Merry Monday post. This is my third entry for the July challenge of one old sketch a week for the month of July! I was able to make these cards before we left for holidays in order to keep up J

My Challenge:

My Card:

I always tends to end up with lots of Christmas DSP left over after the holidays so it is fantastic to be able to use it all up for the MANY Holidays cards I make each year J

Hello From Nova Scotia

Happy Monday to you all! I cannot believe week one of our vacation is behind us now. We are having so much fun and cannot wait for all the fun still to come. As I am on holidays I have taken a break from the many blog challenges I take part in but will still be keeping up with my Sunday Stamps posts J (yes I know it is Monday hehehe)

We have been spending most of our time at the beach and we are LOVING it as you can see!

This week we have a colour challenge over at Sunday Stamps http://sundaystamps.blogspot.ca. Would love for you all to take a pop over and take part. Just think if you complete one challenge a week that is 52 cards you have made in a year!

Our Challenge:

My Card:

I made this card for my grandmother. It is always hard for her to find nice sympathy cards so I wanted to send her out a few special ones!

Sunday Stamps ~ Butterflies Take Flight :)

Sunday is here again and you know what that means... Time for my Sunday Stamps post! This week we are working with a lovely sketch by Holly. Take a pop over to http://sundaystamps.blogspot.ca and check us out!!! Challenge sites are a great way to get the creative juices flowing when you are stuck on inspiration :)

TOMORROW we head home to Nova Scotia for 7 weeks!!! I have been looking forward to this trip for about 4 months now lol. Cannot wait to spend time with all of our family and friends and relax having lazy days at the beach :) How I miss the sweet sea air...

I was really happy to see that the Twitterpated DSP made it in to the new Catalogue! It was really pretty and I did not have much time to use it when I first ordered a pack from last year's Occasion Mini. I really love the colour combo and floral designs. I felt it would be the perfect bottom drop for this butterfly creation :)

Our Challenge:

My Card:

I cannot say enough about how much I love the Papillion Potpourri stamp set and coordinating Elegant Butterfly punch! I was a wee bit concerned when I saw they were retiring their butterfly collection from previous years but should have know they had something better in mind :)

Fall of Cheer :)

5 days... :)

Happy Wednesday all, we are half way to the weekend :) Hope you are all having a great week!

Quick post as I am literally running out the door to our midwife appointment. I had a client contact me this morning looking for an invite for an event she is planning this fall. I was thinking about my Freshly Made Sketch card and thought why not marry the two! Hope you like (she does!).

My Challenge:

My Card:

This is the first time I inked up "Happy Hour" and I am in LOVE! Watch out for many more projects with this set ;)

Above & Beyond...

6 days... :)

Hope you are all having a great week. Thankfully this week is going MUCH better than the last! When things don't go the way you had hoped or planned it is so wonderful to be able to have friends that you can call on for help. I am VERY fortunate to have more than one of these such people :) And so I felt that I would make each one of them a card to let them know just how much they mean to me.

For this card I used the sketch from Retrosketches and the colour theme from The Paper Players Challenge. This card is going to a very good friend and colleague of mine who helped me out last week when I had been at a birth for over 24 hours and awake for 40+ hours. I have never had to call on my backup for relief before and I had to make this hard call and was so fortunate to have Allison to call on. Not many people would get out of bed at 12:34am to come and help you out!

My Challenges:

My Card:

I will be seeing her on Wednesday and hope she likes it :)

My Olympic Rings :)

6 days... :)

So when I saw this challenge over at The Friday Mashup I was really not sure who I could make this card for and then I realized that I know someone who knows someone who is going to The Olympics in London! My sister in law's cousin will be competing in swimming so I have made this card for her to pass along as to her before she makes the trip :)

My Challenge:

1.    Make a project with "The Olympic Colour Combination of Marina Mist, Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi & Red."
2.    Or Make a Project using "Multiple Circles."
3.    Or "Mash it Up" and create a project with the "Olympic Color Combo and Multiple Circles."

Go Confidently in the Direction of Your Dreams Missy :)

Patio Party Birthday!

2nd post of the day and yes folks it will be a quick one too :) I have a mile long to do list before we head home but just hate missing challenge deadlines when I have already worked so hard on my submission!!!

This card was made using the Try Stampin' on a Tuesday sketch. I have to say I am quite smitten with this card and though there is A LOT to look at I just love it :)

My Challenge:

My Card:

I am doing my best to incorporate Summer Starfruit into my favourites list hehehe Not quite there yet... :) Though I have to say I totally LOVE this Patio Party dsp!!!

"Hello" :)

Today officially marks ONE WEEK BEFORE WE LEAVE FOR VACATION!!! Can you tell I am just a tad excited :) Started out the week on a super happy note. We had yet another ultrasound this morning and Baby Kew is looking fabulous, growing as he or she should be and all is well!

This week I will be pretty much doing fly by blog posts. Not a lot of time to be long winded but wanted to play along as much as possible before I have to say goodbye to my craft room for 7 weeks and my resources will be quite limited lol

Here is my Freshly Made card using the colour theme from The Colour Throwdown. Once again I just LOVE this set and these colours just said nautical to me :)

My Challenges:

My Card:

When I showed this card to my hubby he said he liked it but it looked a little "plain" well little does he know I have been striving to make cards that are more simple but I still like this one lol

Sunday Stamps - Colour Challenge!

What a busy week... I know you are all probably thinking, does this lady have anything BUT busy weeks! I do but leading up to vacation there are so many things to tie up! ONE WEEK until we leave for Nova Scotia :)

Sunday is here, and that means it is time for my Sunday Stamps post! There were some really great entries for last week's sketch challenge and I am looking forward to seeing what you all come up with for this week's colour challenge.

This week's colour combo was:
·         Primrose Petals (new IN colour)
·         Summer Starfruit (new IN colour)
·         Basic Gray
I really liked this combo and think for sure that Primrose Petals is a new favourite colour of mine!
Our Challenge:

My Card:

I LOVE my Big Shot and all the fabulous ways it can be used! I used a new embossing folder here the Fancy Fan and also one of the 5 designs from the Lots of Tags Sizzlits kit.

Happy Christmas in July

I seem to be the Queen of quick posts these days but I just don't want to miss a deadline and with getting ready for our vacation I am a busy bee!!! So many details to wrap up before we head out of town for 7 weeks and then come back to have our baby just 6 weeks later!

For this post I combined the Dynamic Duos colour challenge (Crumb cake and a colour of our choice - I chose Gumball Green!), a past Merry Monday sketch (for card #2 of 4 for this month's challenge!) and The Paper Players theme challenge (Christmas!).

My Challenges:

My Card:

I just love the detail of this particular tree stamp. So simple but so cute!

Ostridge? :)

Just popping in with a very quick post (so much to do before we leave for vacation!!!) for my Friday Mashup card! Who doesn't love punch art :) So many cute little designs out there! I found this "little" birdie in my search and thought it was SUPER cute. I wanted to add my own flare so I added some texture on the body to give her a more realistic look.

My Challenge:
1.    Make a project with "Punch Art".
2.    Or Make a project featuring your "Favorite Animal".
3.    Or "Mash it Up" and create a project "with an Animal made from Punches".

My Card:

At first I just had her on the card with some cute dsp behind her but then thought it would be cute to add a scene and so I punched out and sponged some bushes and added the sky and clouds too. I thought the "Wish Big" was a good sentiment as Ostridge are very BIG birds :)

Merry Monday Guest Designer Spot!

Happy Monday All, LOVE holiday Mondays! So nice to have an extra day to spend as a family. We have had a busy but fabulous weekend. Mark's Grandmother was in town for a family reunion this weekend and we got to have a nice visit with her as well. Ethan just LOVES having family in town! He is one social butterfly :)

I was so excited when my Snowman card WON the Merry Monday Challenge and that gave me a guest spot this week on the Design Team! So happy to be able to stamp along with all the lovely, talented ladies who bring super fab projects weekly for us all to play along with!

This week we were asked to pick a sketch from any of the past Merry Monday sketches. I only found this project at week 14 so I had many to chose from that I had not tried yet. It was a tough choice because they all rock but I went with the Week #9 sketch, which was designed by a good friend of Lesley's, Torico. You should pop over to to check out her blog http://birdiebrown.blogspot.ca!

Also this particular challenge will run for the whole month of July while some the design team members take a blogging vacation!  We are encouraged to make 4 cards over the course of the month using 4 sketches from the past. Here is card #1 of 4 :)

Our Challenge:

My Card:

This is my FAVOURITE Holiday paper over at Stampin' UP! this year, Be of Good Cheer. I tend to gravitate to the more tradition colour themes for my cards so Gumball Green, Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla fit the bill :)
