Wishing You a Lifetime of Happiness

Good evening all! Well I did not think I had it in me to make a card this evening I was just so tired after our son went to bed I thought I was not far behind him. And then I just thought I would unpack my *NEW* order and try it out tomorrow and well this is what happened...

I have been working on wedding crafts for good friends of ours for a few months now starting with their "Save the Dates" and today I officially finished the last items, place cards & table numbers. I will be mailing off these goodies to them tomorrow morning. And while I was in a wedding mood I thought I would make their wedding card!

I used the sketch from The Paper Players challenge (which I REALLY loved this week!). The colour theme comes from a new designer paper Comfort Cafe.

My Challenge:

My Card:

When I saw this stamp set I was beyond excited! Being from the east coast now living in Ontario I am often homesick for home and the ocean and so this set just makes me happy :)

I Stamped on a Tuesday!

Tuesday, moving right along :) Having a great day and hope you all are too!

Just a SUPER quick post before my son wakes up! Here is my Try Stampin' on a Tuesday and Dynamic Duo Card.

My Challenges:

My Card:

So the focal point of this card turned out quite well but holy moly what a load of work it is :) I used the Large Paper Doily Sizzlits die from Stampin' UP! After my first run through the big shot was unsuccessful in terms of cutting out all the finer details, my friend Monica suggested I try to add a shim and it worked much better the second time around! Again this will be a tool I only use for extra special cards...

Too Cute for Words!

Hello Everyone! Happy Monday to you all. As I mentioned in this morning's post I started off my week on a very high note attending a fabulous birth early this morning! I am rested up now and was ready to craft this afternoon.

Last week I combined the Merry Monday project with the Friday Mashup challenge and oppps I did it again :) I booked our flights home for Christmas yesterday and so Christmas and Christmas parties have been on my mind. I always like to make a little something for our family & friends and thought this would be the PERFECT way to present their sweet little treats!!!

My Challenges:

1.    Make a project using the "Party Time" theme.
2.    Or Make a project using the "Box in a Bag" tutorial.
3.    Or "Mash it Up" and create a "Box in a Bag with a Party Time theme."

My Projects:

I have recently joined Pinterest. Though I resisted for a LONG time there are so many fabulous ideas out there that I just had to get my hands on! This sweet little punch angel was one of them. I switched up the wing design though. They used the old butterfly punch and I thought this flower punch would look sweet, what do you think? :)

Try Something New!

Just a quick post today! I attended a fabulous birth early this morning and I am still needing to catch up on some sleep so not in the best frame of mind to write but didn't want to miss the deadline :)

The sketch comes from Try Stampin' on a Tuesday and the colours (though I did miss this deadline) come from last week's ColourQ challenge.

My Challenge:

My Card:

I find myself making the same sorts of cards over again and every now and again I like to step outside my comfort zone and try something new - I feel like this card is something new for me :)

Throwin' Down with Betsy's Blossoms!

Wow! I had a very busy week followed by a bought of what appeared to be a stomach flu but I am back :) Had a really nice relaxing day with my boys. We went out for a yummy breakfast (my first real food since lunch time on Friday) and then we went strawberry picking, YUMMY! We came home had lunch and had a rest/nap and then we were off to the beach for the rest of the day. Just what I needed to salvage a weekend gone, oh so wrong!

So here is the card I worked on this evening. The sketch is from Freshly Made and the colours from The Colour Throwdown. I really enjoy taking part in these challenges because it gives you a great deal of creative freedom but it requires you to put colours together you otherwise would not think of, at least me anyway!

My Challenges:

My Card:

Now I LOVE the look at this new edgelit die but I have to be honest and say, WOW what a load of work it is! I have a feeling I will only be breaking this puppy out for EXTRA special occasions lol

A Merry Mashup!

Welcome Monday! Fresh outlook on the week and though my little man is still not feeling the best he is on the mend and I know before long he will be bouncing around like his usual self :)

Here is the card I made for my Merry Monday and Friday Mashup Challenges. The sketch was super cute and perfect for an easel card and the paper piecing technique is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much fun! Usually I mashup both challenges but I took just the paper piecing this time as I wanted to make a Christmas card and did not think I could with the lovely colours selected :)

My Challenges:

1.    Make a project using the "Paper Piecing" technique.
2.    Or Make a project using "Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight & Pool Party".
3.    Or "Mash it Up" and create a " Paper Piecing Project using the above colors."

My Card:

If you are wondering how to do this super cool technique pop on over to the excellent tutorial provided by the lovely Tara (Murphy) Bourgoin - https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BzfqDZcTV2KMNjRBVGYzZFFxNzg/edit?pli=1

Holly Berry Merry!

Here I am getting my Merry Monday card in just under the wire! My boys are under the weather this weekend so I am a wee bit behind.

I got a sneak peek at the Holiday Mini catalogue this week and I am SOOO beyond excited about my Holiday Card Class coming up this fall. I have to say I was a wee bit overwhelmed at the size of the mini but there are so many gorgeous items I cannot wait to get my hands on!!!

I believe this card will make it to my club? Will have to use a different DSP as this one retired but I am sure I will have no trouble picking another beautiful design as there are SOOO many to chose from!

My Challenge:

My Card:

I have become a huge fan of water colouring lately, it is a nice change to straight stampin'!

All Things New, NEw, NEW!!!

Just a quick post before I head up for a nap :)

I have just been having a blast with all of my new stampin' goodies!!! I have used a few more on this card: The large size Vintage Faceted Designer Button, one of the Delicate Designs Embossing Folders, Papillion Potpourri Stamp Set and the Elegant Butterfly punch :)

For this card I used the fabulous sketch from Try Stampin' on a Tuesday and the beautiful colour challenge over at The Paper Players.

My Challenges:

My Card:

I just LOVE how beautiful these buttons are but due to their size I think only the local folks will be getting cards with them hehehe

Tea for You & Tea for Me!

Here with my second post of that day (a quick one!) because I want to make the deadline!!! I am still using new and new to me products from my order which arrived yesterday :) The Tea Shoppe set and the Delicate Finishes embossing folder I felt went hand in hand.

To design this card I used the sketch from Retrosketches and my colour theme comes from The Colour Throwdown.

My Challenges:

My Card:

More and more I am making cards without a sentiment. I find they are so great to have around! They can virtually be used for any occasion :)

Love & Sympathy

Here we are in the middle of a new week! Time is rushing by these days :) That is both a good and bad thing. Good in the sense that we are getting closer to going HOME and bad in the sense that I seem to be getting behind on my card challenges... I think I may have to scale back on the ones I take part in :( How will I decide? They are all so fun!!!

No one really likes to have to send out sympathy cards but speaking from experience they are so appreciated. When I design a sympathy card I feel it is best to keep it simple and clean which is why I chose to make this one using a Freshly Made sketch! And the colours I chose are from the Dynamic Duos challenge.

My Challenges:

My Card:

I have used a number of new products on this card! The argyle embossing folder, the Love & Sympathy stamp set and the NEW regal rose ink pad which I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO in love with mind you. I really went back and forth about whether to replace all my large in pads and after some careful consideration I took the leap and boy am I happy I did, the difference in the stamped image is unreal!

Birds of a Feather...

Good evening all. This afternoon a rather large package arrived on my doorstep and I just could not wait to break into it! My 1st new catalogue order and the supply order for a fundraising card class event I am having. So many exciting new products to use for the first time, don't you just love firsts!

Later this month I am having a card class in support of my sister's fundraising efforts with The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada and Team in Training. She will be running the Nike Women's 1/2 Marathon in San Francisco this coming October! Our family has been touched by this cause and we are very proud of her for taking on this challenge (it being her 5th event with TNT!!!).

This will be one of the six card designs the ladies and gents will be enjoying later on this month. I used the sketch from The Friday Mashup challenge.

My Challenge:

  1. Make a project using " the Sketch ".
  2. Or Make a project featuring " Birds ".
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a " project using the Sketch featuring Birds ".

My Card:

I know most people chose to go with a "whole" bird for their card but I loved this stamp set from the moment I saw it and what's a bird without it's feathers anyhow!
