Congrats to Rita!

Mama left this morning to head back to Nova Scotia. Poor Ethan was quite upset when he woke up and Gran was gone. This is the first time he got it and was really sad. Thankfully it is just another 47 days before we head home for our LONG summer vacation... But who's counting, right? :)

This was a really fun card to work on. One of the lovely designers over at Freshly Made is taking leave now for a while to have her baby and so there was a blog hop this week in her honour! So for this card I used the sketch from FM and the colour combo from Dynamic Duos!

My Card:

Nothing sweeter than tiny little baby feet! Got to see our little one's feet on an ultrasound yesterday which made me think even more how nice it will be when he or she is in our arms this fall <3

For the Newlyweds!

My mama heads back East tomorrow and before she leaves I wanted to make her a few cards for upcoming events she has this summer/fall. One such event are two weddings. So here is one of the cards I made for her!

I used the sketch from Retrosketches and the colour theme from Paper Lovin' Gals. Sad the ladies at PLG will be taking a break for the summer, but you know it sort of works out for me being that I will be in Nova Scotia for 7 weeks this summer without all of my goodies to craft!

Just a quick post today as I am going to dash up now and hopefully get a small nap in before our son wakes up :)

This is one of the new sets I received from SU and I really like it!!! I can see myself doing many fabulous projects with it...

20 Weeks and Counting!!!

Having such a nice visit with my mom! Sad that she only has a few days left but we are going to make them most of them :) We stopped at DQ for an ice cream and then went for a walk on a new trail with Ethan this afternoon. It was a really nice day and thankfully not TOO hot.

Here is my Paper Players card for the week. Last week we had a family photo shoot done with my lovely sister in law (you can check her out over at http://www.melissakewphotography.com). We were SOOOOOOO happy with the pictures it was so hard to chose which ones we really wanted to have edited!!! I made this card as a wee thank you for her time and talents.

My Card:

I know this dsp has retired but I just LOVE the colours and had to use it at least one more time. When I saw the sketch this week I thought the large stamp would be the perfect focal point and the colour theme of this dsp is just beautiful!

It's a BOY or GIRL? :)

So I have been trying to come up with a simple card design for baby announcements when our baby is born this fall. I wanted them to be homemade but didn't want them to be complicated as I will have quite a few to make and who knows if this baby will like sleep or not? :)

We do not know if we are having a boy or a girl but this week's Friday Mashup challenge was to create a masculine card with this sketch and so here it is! I used the colours from The Play Date Cafe challenge which fit perfectly!!!

My Challenge(s):

My Card:

The only thing I think I may do differently on our baby announcements is to add a piece of 1/8" taffeta ribbon to the left panel of this card with a cheater bow to the left hand side :)

Doesn't Get Any Fresher Than This!

Happy Friday All, I am full of joy today! I attended the most wonderful birth this morning. SOOOOOOOOOO blessed to have the jobs I do: mommy, doula and demo hehehe. I made it home by 3am and then was able to sleep in this morning as my mama is visiting and took our son out on a nature hike so I could sleep in quiet.

Here is my Freshly Made & The Colour Throwdown challenge for the week. I LOVED this sketch. I am so into clean, simple sketches lately and these ladies never disappoint!!! We were supposed to use: Marvelous Magenta, Garden Green, Summer Sun and Pumpkin pie for the challenge. Marvelous Magenta and Summer Sun are retired colours so I thought this would be a super time to introduce another *NEW* in colour Primrose Petals and I swopped out Summer Sun for Daffodil Delight!

My Card:

I am SOOOOOOOOOOO happy this set made it to the new cattie. I had purchased it at the end of last month and actually just mounted it this afternoon. It goes so perfectly with the scented embossing powder which I have yet to try also. So many goodie in my craft room just waiting their turn in line hehehe

Merry Little Penguins

We are having a great visit with mom!!! So nice to have her here with us :) Ethan has pretty much been attached to her at the hip since she arrived, which has been nice for this mama having a wee break :) I love my little man don't get me wrong, but you mama's out there know what I mean!

Here is my Merry Monday challenge, have I said before how much I LOVE this challenge :) I am telling there is just something so fun about making 1 Christmas card a week that rather than 100 all at once hehehe

My Challenge:

My Card:

I used the "masking" technique for the very first time with this card and was really impressed at how easy it was! I stamped the penguins first and then stamped them again on a posted note and cut them out, laid them over my stamped penguins and then stamped the trees over the posted note penguins and here you go! I chose to just spot colour the image with the two main colours in the dsp.
