Sunday Stamps ~ Congrats!

I hope you are all having a nice weekend! I sure am :) Yesterday I was surprised by some of my wonderful friends with a baby shower. I cannot remember the last time I was genuinely surprised, so very sweet of them and a wonderful way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Baby Kew is one loved little kiddo and he or she has not even arrived yet... Counting down the days now!

Here we are with a colour challenge from Joan this week over at Sunday Stamps http://sundaystamps.blogspot.ca. When I saw these colours I thought they would be perfect for a card I was planning to make for a good friend of mine who also happens to be a stamper, she just had her 2nd son earlier this month! I know this card does not scream BABY but I thought it was a really cute design and wanted to try it out.

Just wanted to take a moment and say how fabulous being an Independent Stampin' UP! Demonstrator is. My Big Shot (after being well loved since becoming a demonstrator, 2 years ago) started to have some issues so I called Demonstrator Support to see if they had any tips on how to fix the problem I was having. Moments later they informed me a BRAND SPANKING NEW Big Shot would be mailed out to me the next day at no expense to me what so ever. I was so impressed by this, because those of you who have a Big Shot know being without it is brutal :)

Sunday Stamps ~ Getting Sketchy with Tara

Hello Sunday Stampers! Here I am with a quick post as I am a day late, we switched internet providers and I was literally reconnected minutes ago!

This week we are working with a fab sketch from Tara! In the past I have not made Halloween cards but this year I was really looking forward to trying out this super cute new stamp Frightening Feline.

Now I have to fess up. I did not quite plan to make the background around the kitty quite like this but honestly I love it. What happened was after I embossed the image in black powder it was not totally dry before I adhered it to the lucky limeade and thus a small spot smudged as I was doing so... So I decided to smudge a wee bit more and then add some concord crush and pumpkin pie ink over top with my Spritzer tool. Sometimes a mistake can turn into something fun and delightfully creative :)

Sunday Stamps ~ Holly's Colours!

Hope you have all had a nice weekend :) We are officially 1 month away from baby's arrival so we have been taking our spare time to start to get organized around here, which easier said than done with a 3 1/2 year old little boy who does not think cleaning, and laundry is all that much fun! He is very excited about the little brother or sister who is about to arrive so he is doing his best to help out.

So great to see so many people out to join us at Sunday Stamps last week. We are a relatively new blog and so we are crossing our fingers the word will get out how much fun we have over here and you all will join us on a weekly basis to play along. Such a fun group of ladies to create with and super place to find inspiration for the next projects you may want to work on!

I loved this week's colour combo by Holly. I have not used this stamp set yet so I thought it was time to ink it up! You can never have too many "friend" cards to pass on to those special people in your life!!!

Merry Monday ~ Holiday Cheer to Last the Year :)

I say again it feels gooooood to be back in my craft room!!! Wowzers I did not realize how much I missed being creative the juices are beyond flowing, which is fantastic because I have a lot on the go Stampin' wise :)

Loved the Merry Monday sketch this week so much I thought it would be fantastic for card design #1 of 16 for my Holiday Card Club which kicks off this month. I have to say by far my favourite stampin' to do all year round are Holiday cards!!!

For this card I used some of the colours from the Snow Festival DSP in the Holiday Mini. I thought it went perfectly with the Happy Hour stamp set and added in some Cherry Cobbler Dazling Details on the little holly berry to give it a little sparkle. What fun :)

Freshly Made ~ Stamper's Club!

TGFI ya'll! We have had a very busy and eventful first week back in Ottawa. Really crossing my fingers life will settle down a wee bit for at least the next month. I am REALLY excited as this evening is the 1st session of a new Stamper's Club!!! I have sure missed my stampin' ladies and cannot wait to see them this evening. Here is what we will be making...

At a demonstrator meeting I attended before we left for vacation we made this project and I feel in love! What a cute little gift for someone to receive. Hmmm... Christmas is coming after all. The tutorial was offered free online from Jill Hilliard: http://jill031070.blogspot.ca/2011/10/card-box-free-tutorial.html - So great to have such talented ladies to learn from :)

For the front of the card box I used the sketch from Freshly Made Challenge this week. It was just perfect for this project! I used the colour theme from International Bizarre designer paper from Stampin' UP! So many pretty colours to choose from :)

As you can see there is lots of room in this cute little box. It will fit 4-8 cards depending on how much dimension you chose to use. I went with the same basic design for each card (switching up the colour theme on each) and used a different sentiment to give a variety to the lucky person who receives it.

Back to MY CRAFT ROOM!

Back to life, back to reality! I know I am a day late with my "Sunday" post but yesterday ended up being a little longer of a day than we had planned. We made our way back to Ottawa and after we got the little guy tucked into bed I was right behind him...

So being back feels okay. I am surprised but when I got home and saw the painting my husband had done in our baby's room while I was away and all the furniture set up it really made me quite excited. Thinking that we will be welcoming our 2nd little one next month I just won't allow myself to be sad we are no longer home!

I really thought I had left my craft room a wee bit more organized than what I came back to hehehe It is going to take me a few days to get all cleaned up I believe but I have been soooo in withdrawal from crafting that it will not be a chore! Cannot wait to tidy up and make room for NEW SU! goodies arriving this week for me EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! Really looking forward to getting back into my weekly card challenges and more frequent posting. I am going to have to cut back to a few a week, with many things to organize and finish up before baby arrives daily posts will likely be a thing of the past (for a while at least hehe).

This week over at Sunday Stamps we have a lovely colour combo from Tara, our fab hostess! Lucky Limeade, Sahara Sand & Wisteria Wonder, very pretty indeed.

I never used to be a huge fan of dimension on a card but now it seems I can't get enough! The "puffier" the better :)
