Sweet Summer Flowers

Happy Friday All! Hope you are all looking forward to the week ahead.
As per usual we have a very busy one. I am in the process of wrapping up work now before we head home for our vacation and so with that and other commitements the next few weeks are going to be a wee bit insane. I am doing my best to keep up with my blogging but daily posts are just not going to be possible for a little while :)

Here is a card I made combining three lovely challenges. The sketch comes from Freshly Made, the colour theme comes from The Colour Throwdown and Summer theme comes from The Paper Players.

My Very 1st Scrapling!

Hope you are all having a great week! This will be a quick entry as nap time if coming to an end :)

This is the project I worked on using the design idea from the Friday Mashup challenge and the colour theme from Dynamic Duos. At FM we were asked to make a project using scraps of patterned paper or ribbon, made a scrapling (which is a little card, notecard or tag used from scraps left over from making a square card), or mash them up – which I did!

My Challenge(s):

My Card:

I have to say a had a wee bit of trouble coming up with an idea for this card. I have LOADS of scraps and would love to use them up someday but making it all fit into one project can sometimes he a little difficult :)

Kindess Matters...

What a wonderful day!!! We have 4 bottles of homemade spaghetti sauce,
3 homemade chicken pot pies, 3 jars of chicken stew & 2 dozen banana chocolate chip muffins for the freezer. It has been a wonderfully productive day here at The Kew residence!!!

This is the second card that I had the chance to make at nap time today. I used the sketch from Retrosketches and the colour theme from The Play Date Cafe.

Dimensional Galore!

A quiet Sunday with my boys & bump is just what this mama needed. I got up with the little man this morning to let my hubby sleep in (mind you Ethan slept until 8:15am YAHOOO) so I was totally fine with that! We had breakfast and then took off to the grocery store. Made it home just in time for lunch and then a nap for the wee man while daddy played his game and mama crafted (made 2 cards today!). Ethan is just waking up, him and I are going to make muffins while daddy works on his homemade spaghetti sauce for supper and to freeze. How did you all spend your Sunday? :)

For this card I used the sketch from Try Stampin' on a Tuesday and the colour theme from The Colour Throwdown (which oddly enough almost matched the colours in the sketch!).

My Challenge(s):

My Card:

As my vacation draws closer only 43 days before we leave to head home I am starting to think... How will I live without my craft room??? lol I have a feeling the beaches and berry picking and bbq's and time with family and friends will help me cope!

the sky's the limit...

Another close call with his post but better almost late than not at all, right? :)Sometimes I take on a weee bit more than I should and thus my personal craft time takes a back seat!

This card was created with the sketch from Mojo Monday and the colour theme from ColourQ. I saw a fabulous card that a fellow stamper had made this week and it inspired me to use this stamp set.

I was quite a fan of this colour pairing! What about you?

Season of Giving!

Wow I am cutting this one close! We have had a few busy days and thus I have not been spending much time crafting. But if there is one of the challenges I am currently taking part in THIS one I cannot miss!!!

For my Merry Monday card I chose to break into the vault of holiday dsp that I have. For some reason I have no trouble parting with regular dsp as it retires but I hold on to ALL of the holidays papers! Deep down I believe Christmas cards are my favourite to make.

So I went with The Merry Holiday dsp and colour theme: Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Old Olive, Garden Green and Very Vanilla. Hope you like!

I decided not to colour in the pressies the little elf was holding onto as a personal stab at commercialism at Christmas time lol We are trying to make sure Ethan & Baby Kew grow up with a healthy understanding that Christmas is not about receieving but about giving to others! Last year Ethan and I made 24 cupcakes for a local homeless shelter and he picked two Angel's (children in the comminuty in need) to buy a Christmas present for and this year we plan to make 36 cupcakes and pick three Angel's!
