Wednesday morning and I am feeling fine! Looking forward to the long weekend ahead. We have a busy one planned but a lot of time with family and friends is just what the doctor ordered!

This card I made for a close friend of mine who has accepted a promotion to a full time position and will be moving jobs later this month. Same job which she LOVES but different location which can always be a little daunting. I am so proud of her for making this move and wanted her to know (in my opinion) she made the right choice!!!

I used the sketch from Retrosketches and the Colour Challenge at Dymanic Duos.

This flat bow technique was one I came upon at You Tube and I have used it a few times. It is a nice way to add a pretty bow to your card without increasing the postage!

To Those Who Serve and Those Who Stand Behind Them

Good Evening all. Hope you are all having a wonderful start to your week. As per my blog post from this morning, the Kew family are loving life!!!

I was really looking forward to this week's challenge over at The Friday Mashup. My father gave over 20 years of his life to the Canadian Navy and I feel very proud of the commitment he made to serving the great country we Canadians are blessed to call home.

I agree we owe a huge debt of gratitude to those men and women who serve to protect us all, but I feel there are also very strong men and women who are not thought of enough and those are the spouses and families behind the soldiers. My mom is one of them and looking back on my childhood I cannot begin to imagine how she was able to keep it all together with three children and a husband who worked so very hard and in doing so was not always there.

The sketch for this card came from Try Stampin' on a Tuesday, which I did this week! I found it to be perfect and simple to not take away from the overall look of the card.

My Challenge(s):

·         Make a project that's "Patriotic, for Remembrance or saying Thanks".

·         Or Make a project with the colors " Whisper White, Night of Navy, Poppy Parade & Daffodil Delight."

·         Or "Mash it Up" and create a "Remembrance or Patriotic project using the colors above."

·         Donate your card to a Wounded Solider or that Special Service Member in your Life!

Oh Happy Day!

Good Afternoon all! Well we have had a fabulous day so far. We started out with an appointment at the ultrasound clinic this morning to take a peek at our baby who is now 18 weeks and 3 days along. He or she is looking very healthy and happy in there all is well. We were able to get a DVD with lots of movement and also a really cute picture of baby relaxing with his or her left arm wrapped behind there neck just relaxing, super laid back. Let's hope that is his or her personality on the outside world too hehehe.

I am squeaking this post in just under the wire for one of the two challenges I took part in with his card! For the first time I popped over to The Play Date Cafe (http://theplaydatecafe.blogspot.ca) to see what was going on over there and was really excited about their colour challenges. Sometimes that is harder for me to chose than a sketch to go with. And speaking of the sketch this is from the Mojo Monday blog challenge.

So you may be wondering what the smudges are on this card? Well funny story... I decided I might try a little Crystal Effects for the first time and you see I splattered it all over my card and then thought I would just go with it and give sort of the illusion of the fish from the PDC picture lol

Happy Birthday Flower Pot Card - My 100th POST!!!

Who is looking forward to the weekend? This mama is! I have my scrapbook club this evening, tomorrow I have an infant massage session in the morning, a pedicure with my best friend in the afternoon and then we are getting our families together for dinner AND THEN spending Sunday (which just happens to be Mother's Day) with my boys!

Ethan has been cordially invited to his very first garden party. His little friend Honoura will be celebrating her 4th birthday next month and her mama has been working away on crafty projects for her special day. I wanted to make an extra special card for her and here it is!

I went with the colour palate from The Colour Throwdown this week and the theme from Paper Lovin' Gals to make this Flower Pot Pop Up Card.

Another day another card to share with you all, a Twisted Easle Card! So what does this mama do at 3am when she has been tossing and turning for over an hour? She gets up and makes a card! I am fairly certain that if solid sleep does not come soon I may go a wee bit nuts but in the meantime here I am hehehe

For this card I used the sketch from Try Stampin' on a Tuesday and the colour palate from ColourQ. I have come to enjoy both of these sites very much over the past few weeks! When your creative brain is a little slow it is so wonderful to have some talented ladies and gents out there say, "hey here is a card design and why don't you try these colours" LOL

I have been taking part is no many new challenges lately that the card pile on my desk is starting to topple over so my plan for this weekend is to organize them into cute little card boxes by theme and perhaps that way I will be able to get them in the mail on time? It is worth a shot, right? hehehe

Trimmin' the Tree!

Good Morning All J I have been away from my craft room for a few days catching up on some rest but I am back and ready to go! Here I am with this week’s Merry Monday challenge which brings my number of Christmas cards made for this year up to 6 hehehe I am on my way!

So on Monday I got my sneak peak at the NEW Stampin’ UP! catalogue and can I just say this mama is beyond pumped about all of the fabulous new stamp sets, colours and tools that I will be able to bring home and share with you all!!! It is a good thing I have been saving up because my first order is going to be a BIG one J I was having a hard time trying to figure out what retiring items to sell and which to hang onto and after seeing the new cattie I am letting them all go!!!

I tested out a new technique for the first time on this card, the Faux Torn Mosaic. I did skip the last step which was to add some modge podge to smooth out the surface but I actually liked the look of having it slightly raised!

Dynamic Post #1!

It was another gorgeous day here in Ottawa. Unfortunately due to allergies Ethan and I were stuck in the house today dreaming of being out in the sunshine. I am wondering when allergy season is over? This is the first year either of us have had any issue and it just plan sucks! Oh well could be worse we will survive J
