Mother's Day Mashup!

What a beautiful day here in Ottawa! I had the most wonderful day with my boys. We spent the whole afternoon and early evening at one of our favourite parks and enjoyed a picnic supper. Our little man just could not help himself and wound up in the river. It was actually not very cold surprisingly. He is just a fish and when we are near water he MUST go in!

Well this card is quite the dooozey. I took inspiration from 3 card challenges for this particular project. This week the gals at Paper Lovin’ Gals and The Friday Mashup decided to join forces for a joint challenge and being that I regularly take part in both that was a bonus for me! I also used the colour challenge from Pals Paper Arts for this card. This card is going to find it's way to our second mother in Nova Scotia who just happens to also have a LOVE on for Stampin' UP!

My Challenge(s):

  1. Make a project for "Mom, Grandmother, Aunt etc...".
  2. Or Make a project with a "Pop-Up Element ".*
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a "Pop-Up Project for Mom".
  4. Or join in Both challenges and create a "Pop-Up Project for Mom using the inspiration photo above."

My Card:

So as I mentioned the colours came from the Pals Paper Arts challenge, the Mother’s Day theme, hearts, love and POP UP aspect came from the joint Paper Lovin’ Gals and The Friday Mashup challenge. This is a wiper card, so when you pull on either end of the card the “love” pops up!

Faux Fresh

TGI (almost) F J!!! I have an appointment with my GP tomorrow morning and just to ease my mind I am going to ask if we can listen to our baby’s heartbeat he is always happy to do that for me. He or she has been moving around a ton today so I am feeling SOOOOOO  blessed and looking forward to our next ultrasound later this month.

For this card I used the Freshly Made Sketch and the colour challenge from The Colour Throwdown. I went with another retiring stamp set that I will be really sad to say goodbye to Herb Expressions. Just a few more days until I get my full cattie sneak peak and I JUST CAN’T WAIT!!!

My Challenge(s):

My Card:

Faux Silk:

·         Stamp images on tissue paper. Color images if neccessary.
·         Crinkle tissue paper. Smooth out and set aside.
·         Apply adhesive of your choice over the entire piece of neutral cardstock.
·         Spread tissue paper over adhesive. Smooth out most wrinkles.
·         Trim excess tissue paper.
·         Finish your card.

Telescoping Mojo!

Almost the weekend!!! It is a daddy weekend of relaxation so Ethan and mommy are going to have loads of fun together J I am hoping the weather will be nice I have some fun ideas in mind but sun is required!!!
Today we started off with a rainy morning so Ethan and I went down to my craft room and got to work. I set him up with his play dough which he LOVES and I got working on my Mojo Monday and ColourQ entry for the week.
I have seen a lot of beautiful telescoping cards lately and I have yet to try one so when I saw the Mojo sketch for this week I thought this would be a great time to try one. And then I used the baby wipe technique with the beautiful colour palate offered at ColourQ this week and here you go...

My Challenge(s):

My Card:

Rainy days sure tend to bring me down but having my craft room to escape to really helps. With my little wing man creating right alongside of me it is just perfect J

Another fabulous sketch created by the lovely ladies over at Merry Monday Challenge! As I mentioned before I am just having a blast with this challenge and I am getting my Christmas cards made for 2012 and with a new baby on the way in October this is SUCH a good idea for me J

Daisies #2

Good Morning Bloggers! Hope you all had a restful sleep J I stayed up a little later than I probably should have last night finishing up this card. I just had to finish before turning in for the night. You know how it is the creative juices are flowing, your favourite music playing in the background and you just lose track of time!

This card was created using the Retrosketches sketch and the Tic Tac Toe challenge over at The Paper Players. I love the simple design of the sketch and thought it would be best suited to go with the Flowers, Pearls (my choice) and Designer Paper. I used the colour theme from the Berry Blossom dsp.

As most of you know last week Stampin’ UP! released their retiring accessory list. Once again I was blown away by the number of goodies we will be saying goodbye to. And when I started to look through what I have to put into my friends SU Garage Sale I came across The Daisies #2 die which I had not even taken out of the packaging so I just had to take it for a whirl J

I am so thrilled with the new large pearls. Very happy they made the carry over list from the Occasions mini!!!

  2. Or Make a project using "Text or Definition Stamps and/or Paper".
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a "Graduation project with Text or Definition stamps/papers".

My Card:

I have been wanting to try NEW things lately so the other evening I took a good look at all of the fabulous tutorials over at Split Coast Stampers. I came across this AWESOME technique called Faux Metal Stamping!!! I used my pewter embossing powder and LOVE the way it turned out J

Tulips Makes Me Smile

A dreary day in Ottawa means beauty coming from this chicks craft room J Still trying to catch up on my sleep from my busy baby weekend so I am a wee bit behind on my challenges but I am still getting them in on time!!!

For this week’s Paper Lovin’ Gals challenge we were given this beautiful spring inspired picture to inspire our creative side. Living in Ottawa I get to enjoy the tulip festival ever year in May and this year we are going to make sure we get there right away last year we were a little late and most of the blossoms had fallen off the flowers. I am still trying to get a super cute picture of our son among the flowers... Perhaps I will have to enlist the specialties of my lovely sister in law http://www.melissakewphotography.com.

My Challenge:

My Card:

It will be a little late as I don’t think I can get this one in the mail safely to Nova Scotia but my mother will be visiting us on May 23rd so this will be waiting in her room when she arrives J
